Comprehensive Pilot Medical Exams
Pilot Health Services
01
Initial
Preliminary health check
The initial step includes a preliminary health screen where pilots answer health related questions on the MedXpress found on the FAA website. Once completed the confirmation number can be sent to PilotCare LLC through a text message to 614 342 9530,
02
Review
Analysis of results
In this step, a review of the MedXpress is conducted prior to the exam, ensuring that all aspects of the pilot’s health are thoroughly analyzed before proceeding. If additional information is needed, a phone call to the pilot helps get necessary paperwork before the exam is done.
03
Assessment
Comprehensive evaluation
This step involves a thorough assessment of the pilot’s vital signs and current health status to ensure safety. There is never an additional charge for CACI or Special Issuance review. There is a small additional fee for EKG if needed. There is no additional fee for color vision screening for first time pilots.
04
Certification
Final Certification
The final certification step guarantees that pilots meet all necessary health standards for flying, ensuring their safety and that of others. If, on rare occasions, a deferral is necessary, clear explanations of the health condition in question is given to the pilot and we will continue to help the pilot get information to the FAA as needed.
More About Dr Joseph Lutz, MD
I have been a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner for over ten years in the Central Ohio area. In February, 2024 I decided to retire from over 30 years as a Family Medicine doctor and be a full time grandfather to my grandson in Cincinnati. I realized the important need for AMEs in Ohio and that my retirement left a void. I therefore started a small business at Easton in October 2024 to care for pilots. I continue to spend time with my grandson on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but will be available to perform this important task of certifying pilots on the other days of the week.
